a realm of something I don't know much about »
I had a conversation with someone recently about the rise of video games, and their influence. It really is fascinating. Some play tennis these days, some play b-ball or martial arts, others have videogames; as common as tennis shoes. Now, they cost as much to make as movies (Halo 2 the same budget as The Lord of the Rings). I wonder if they will become more popular than movies… amazing writers are now hired to write plotlines, with intense research, to develop games. And when I think about it: the reason that people love it is becomes you enter movies like you never could before. Because people 5 years around my age have gotten into it and MADE it into a market (Logan, Michael, Biaka), the younger boys watch them and follow in their footsteps (or thumb-twitches) we now see them (Gavin, Jesse, Jonathan) playing almost more than the others. And to them, it is childhood.
Anyway. It’s just interesting. I don’t think I’ll ever be a videogamer myself, but I’ll do it vicariously through Ellie.
Oh, and the link has a lot on movie info too
